A Rant to Get Out of the Way Before Mitchell

So I stopped by the grocery store today at lunch to pickup something from the deli to eat.  I paid for my food, walked outside to find a woman getting in her van watching her cart roll down the hill 2 spaces and smack into the side of my car.  I have spoken about this before and it just burns me up.  What she said to me only made it worse:

Me: *sarcastic tone* “Thanks for that.”

Her: “Oh, I didn’t know it was going to hit your car.”

Me: “Carts go in the cart return, you know.”

Her: *sarcastic tone* “I know.”

Me: “Next time use it.”

Her: “I ain’t gonna use tha cart return. You have a blessed day.” *smacks lips, driving away*

Me: *loud enough so people can hear* “That’s LAZY!”

Then, I have to go around, pull the cart off of my car and put it where she should have to begin with.  What is it about people that think they don’t have to be kind to others?  What is it that makes them think they are better/more privileged/whatever you call it that makes them not follow general guidelines of human dignity?  To add insult to her kind, she leaves after being so rude with a “Have a blessed day.”  What?  I would only assume from that statement she is Christian or at the very least Religious.  Aren’t people that follow a religion supposed to generally be nice to people?  Someone help me figure this out!

Oh my gosh. that is infuriating. Next time something like that happens, whip out your cell phone and snap her picture so you can include that on this blog too. Will make her even more angry, but that’s the best part!

The blessed day part is the worst! Why the heck did she say that? I’m baffled too.

You didn’t get her plate number did you? Not sure there’s anything we could do with it, but it kinda feels like it’d be fun to find out …

I should have thought to take her picture! Oh man! I did pretend to be taking down her tag number in case she was looking to make her nervous. :)

This makes me so mad that I don’t want to comment and get myself all worked up!

Now yes, Christians should generally be nice to people, but all Christians sin. Everyone sins everyday. It’s our human nature. Luckily we are able to ask God for forgiveness. We can only hope she realized her negative ways and asked for forgiveness. I can only imagine what she would have done if someone would have hit her car with a buggy :(

She would have cursed, that’s exactly what she would have done, cursed right @ kevin! Then said “Have a ******* blessed day” !
This makes me so angry! I will even buckle my kids in , lock the doors, and walk to where ever the car return is, she had no excuse.

That’s lame and everyone’s exactly right…the lamest part is that she said, “Have a blessed day.” My opinion is that was a defense meckanism and she is hiding behind that statement, thinking if I say something “religious” then that makes me look better and this guy will leave me alone. That’s all that was, if she is a Christian, she just used her “religion” and didn’t act at all how a Christian should. One of my personal pet peeves is people that don’t really know Jesus and they try to use religion for themselves to further themselves in this world (especially in the south!). Yes we all sin and we all do wrong but the right thing to do is to admit when we are wrong instead of putting up defenses. Which is a good reminder for myself–I need to do this more–admit when I’m wrong and not put up defenses. Sometimes I think the things that drive me the most crazy about other people are the things that drive me the most crazy about myself. That’s just me!
