I had trouble waking up yesterday morning and had the same problem today. I made the decision last night to stay up and watch the end of the Yankees/Twins game on TV since I don’t get to watch many games, and I could not get myself up when the alarm went off at 4:50. So it was no swim this morning, which bummed me out. I was pretty disappointed in myself, which is probably why I was motivated to run a personal record for 5K distance at lunch. I was determined to get something good out of the day! I ran 3.11 miles in 25:04:21! That comes to 8:04/mile. My previous personal best was 26:55 at the Concord Bunny Run, which is about 8:40/mile. I am super excited about that. So I guess this is one of those days where I was down, but found a way to pick myself up. Tomorrow morning I will go to the pool!
I also need to get a bike in, but may not get to that until Thursday. We are going to the cabin in Saluda, NC this weekend, so it will be a good chance for some hill workouts!
I have also been thinking about the training for my first Olympic distance triathlon on 8/2/09, Assault on Cherokee. I think I will follow this plan. It is a 10 week plan, so this week is technically week 1. I missed the swim this morning, but I can get back on track!
